The view below shows the gritblasted bogie frame.
The axlebox guide (or horn) faces have been fettled to remove sharp edges and polished to remove machining marks. The horn stays have also been trial fitted and improved as required.
The only work remaining on the bogie frame is final painting.
The view above shows the bogie frame painted with the first coat of primer.
Apart from painting, the next job to be done is the careful measuring of the axlebox guides. Once these dimensions are obtained, we can proceed with machining the whitemetal faces of the bogie axleboxes.
