The photo shows the refurbished nameplate brackets now firmly attached to the locomotive.

 

Also shown are the four recently overhauled sandbox fillers which have been put on the locomotive to check that they fit correctly before final adjustment and bolting down.

 

Sand is used on locomotives to aid traction. When rail conditions are slippery sand can, if necessary, be blown under the wheels to help them 'grip' the rail better.

 

It's good for all involved to see some green painted items appearing on the locomotive at last!
