The tender vacuum reservoir pipework has now been finished, new end sections have been made and a new pipe run that makes the tender compatible with a West Country has been added, with new brackets and clips made to fasten it. All of the component sections have been assembled and joints sealed, just leaving final painting before they can be permanently fitted.
The front end section of the main vacuum pipe has been renewed, completing the repairs to tender brake system pipework.
On the loco, new ashpan spray nozzles have been machined and new unions for these are in the process of being made.
The smokebox has been retrieved from storage at the north of the site and placed in the shed where it is being cleaned and painted. The new smokebox door has been trial fitted and tacked into position on the smokebox front so the hinges recovered from the old door can be offered up and adjusted to fit the new door.
